An Epic Voyage along the Ganga comes to close!
Congratulations Theo and Zanskar!
From Burton and Speke’s expedition to the origin of Nile to the age old Narmada Parikrama or the Chaar Dhaam Yatras (which are as much river journeys as pilgrimages), River journeys have always enthralled travelers and listeners alike.

Following the Tsarap
Are you also following events as they unfold on the Tsarap Chu? We’re watching closely, anxiously – to see what happens. As you might know, a massive landslide has blocked the river. No matter how it’s resolved – the river will forever be changed. We just hope that the situation is handled with care, and that everyone remains safe when the waters finally break free.
What this means for Expeditions India’s trip to the Tsarap Chu in 2015 is that we won’t be rafting down it. Before taking clients on a trip, we need to scout and recce. But we are planning two trips on the Zanskar this Aug/Sept, and hope to recce the Tsarap as well, either before or in between these trips. If you are an experienced whitewater kayaker and would like to join us on a recce trip on the Tsarap, please get in touch. It should be a trip like no other.
In the meantime, we hope and pray that the river again finds her natural flow with the least destruction possible.
Nadisutra
We are deeply inspired by our two friends, Theo and Zanskar, who are currently undertaking an incredible 2000km canoe journey on the Mahakali River, “to bear witness, both through images and the written word, to the radical changes being wrought on the entire river system, and beyond”. They have just reached their halfway point at Patna. We invite you to follow their adventure via their blog: https://nadisutra.wordpress.com/
Happy Holidays from Expeditions India!
